Cape Otway is located approximately 13 kilometres from Great Ocean Road on a high cliff overlooking the sea. The Cape Otway light house began operation in 1848. There are a few private houses and accommodation providers at the Cape. The Great Ocean Walk goes past the lighthouse and there are numerous walks and drives throughout the area.
